Mahatma Rice 0.50/1 Coupon in This Sunday's Paper (4/25)

After glancing at this coming Sunday's coupon insert preview now posted on Southern Savers, I noticed a great 0.50/1 Mahatma Rice coupon that will be in the Red Plum insert. Nearly every time I visit the food bank and they see rice coming in, the volunteers get excited as there is a great need for this particular item. Not only is it inexpensive (free in fact, after the coupon for the small bags), but it can make a family meal stretch a long way. If your own shelves at home are stocked with rice and you don't really need it, please consider clipping and donating it to "Clipping for a Cause!"

How to Make a $5 Profit from This Week's Publix Ad:

I know that most of you have probably heard by now about the SC Johnson $5 Rebate going on right now. For those who may not, I thought I would take the time to share. Below, I have posted some great deals along with the coupons needed to make them free or close to free. Included in that list are "Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner" and "Shout Laundry Stain Remover." Both of these products qualify for the $5 rebate. So..not only are they free after coupons, but you can make a $5 profit! You have to purchase 3 items from the list of products that qualify, AND you can submit a form 3 times per household! Click here to download the form and don't forget to save your receipt! If you are purchasing everything together in one big shopping trip, you will need 3 separate receipts for each 3 items you buy to qualify for the rebate.

GREAT Deals and Opportunities to Donate for Free Starting Tomorrow at Publix (Today in Some Areas!)

I don't know about you but I am pumped about tomorrow's Publix ad! There are so many different options on ways to donate and make a difference with hardly any cost out of pocket. Not only that, but it will be a great week to stock up on certain items for your own family! A lot of people have been asking me, "where are you storing all of this extra food before it gets delivered to the various food banks and charities?" So.. I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to brag on my hubby. Ever since "Clipping for a Cause" started, he has been nothing more than extremely supportive. He converted our laundry room into a mini food bank, by building shelves where all of the items are placed and sorted before I can get them to where they are going. Not only that, but my parents donated an extra refrigerator they weren't using! Thank goodness, because it got to the point that the frozen veggies were causing our "family freezer" to bust at the seams! So..there ya go!

Now, onto the deals!

Keep in mind that the "Clipping for a Cause" ministry allows me to shop for multiples of each item due to a devoted congregation of people donating their unused coupons! It wouldn't be possible without their help!

As stated in recent posts, all personal hygiene/cleaning items will all be donated to Villa Lodge and Suites in Lawrenceville this month. The residents who occupy this low-income hotel struggle to make their payment each month in order to have a place to live. More often than not, if they are unable to pay it several times, there are no other options for them. I was not aware until recently, but food stamps cannot be used for non-food items. This means, no over-the-counter medications, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, etc!

All non-perishable food items will be benefiting the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op this month.

All cold/freezer items will be benefiting the Quinn House in Lawrenceville. After speaking with Keith earlier this week..he explained to me that he cooks for 40 people a day who would otherwise be homeless if it weren't for the Quinn House. Therefore, he said, there are never too many donations!

Mueller's Whole Wheat Pasta: Great Item to Donate for 9 Cents!

The new ad for Publix begins this Thursday (Wednesday in some areas). I am so excited..especially about the Mueller's pasta being BOGO again! I know some of you may not be fans of the whole wheat pasta, but you just can't beat 9 cents for a whole box of it..especially if you just toss a couple in your cart to donate for the heck of it! When thinking about items to donate to food banks, I always try to concentrate on things that will stretch a long way to feed families in need. Pasta is a perfect example.

Click here for the 0.55 coupon and combined with the sale (2 for $1.29) it will be a little over 9 cents a box!

"I Heart Publix" is Having a $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!

Help Needed for April's Mobile Food Drive!

Hopefully you all have had an opportunity to look at images of past Mobile Food Drives through "Clipping for a Cause." They have been quite a success and in one month, we nearly doubled the donations! However, I am going to be the first one to admit that I could use some assistance for April's drive. It will be the 29th, which is a Thursday. In months past, I have turned to my neighborhood each time and asked them to set out one grocery bag of non-perishables that I then pick up and deliver for them. In an effort to give them a rest from the monthly event, I am asking for help for others to conduct a Mobile Food Drive in your area/workplace. If you are local, I would be happy to meet in a central location on April 29th to sort and count all of the items collected. Please let me know if you are interested!

Scrubbing Bubbles Makes it's Return In This Weekend's Paper!

For those of you who weren't among the lucky ones who printed the $5/1 Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Sprayer Coupon before it reset, there is hope! If you don't already purchase more than one Sunday paper, this would be the weekend to do it. The $5/1 Scrubbing Bubbles coupon will be in there so you will be able to get the Automatic Sprayer for FREE when combined with the "One Stop One Store" Publix Coupon. There will be some other good ones too, including another coupon for Schick razors. As most of us already know, the razors in the travel section are 0.99, so with the $2/1 coupon that will be in this Sunday's paper, you will make a buck for every razor package you buy at Publix. Gotta love it!

Another Freebie Thanks to One of My Readers!

I am always so appreciative of readers sending me deals (especially freebies) so that more items can be donated through "Clipping for a Cause." You really don't know how much it helps, considering it's impossible for one person to know EVERY single deal out there! Thanks to one of my readers, (T.) I was able to get bottles of Dawn Dish Soap for free this week! These will all be going to the residents at Villa Lodge and Suites in Lawrenceville at the end of the month. Another plus... since Dawn is a P&G product, I got several reusable Publix shopping bags for FREE too!

Here is the breakdown of coupons used:

Dawn Dish Soap (small bottle) $1.46 at Publix
0.50 off Dawn Product Coupon from Green Publix "P&G Future Friendly Booklet"
Combined with the 4/4/10 P&G Coupon for 0.50/1 Dawn Product (doubles to $1)

Then, don't forget to use the "Free Reusable Shopping Bag when you buy 2 Participating P&G Products" coupon located also in the P&G Green Booklet. So, for every 2 Dawn soaps you "buy" for free, you get a free bag with it! And..I must say, they have stepped it up a notch these days with those reusable bags! You actually get to pick from some cutie batootie styles instead of that same old bright green!

New Publix Ad Starts Today! Several Ways to Donate for FREE This Week!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! As most of you probably already know, the new Publix ad is finally out today! That was a pretty long stretch with 2 weeks of the same ad...and I am pretty sure it will be a while before we see a box of Chocolate Cheerios in stock at any location! They were all pretty much wiped out!

Anyway, here are some suggestions for how to donate to "Clipping for a Cause" for free this week! Of course, only donate if you aren't going to use the items for your own family! Since all personal items are going to Villa Lodge Suites in Lawrenceville throughout the month of April, I will be trying to list more of those opportunities!

Green Giant Frozen Veggies @ 10 for $10
0.50/1 Print
Makes them FREE

Scotties Tissue @ 0.99
$0.50/1 Print
When doubled, makes it FREE

Reach Floss @ 0.99 (Green Advantage Price through 4/27)
0.50/1 Print
When doubled, makes the floss FREE

UPDATE: It appears that the Scrubbing Bubbles printable for $5/1 is no longer available. Hope you were able to snag yours in time!

No April Fools Joke Here! Spent $5.60 and saved $201.71 for "Clipping for a Cause!"

I can't even put into words the absolute joy that comes over me to spread all of these goodies out on the floor and know that only 5 bucks was spent out of pocket. You would not believe how many donated coupons we got at First United Methodist Church of L'ville this week for Clipping for a Cause! Let's just say that the box that everyone places them in was overloaded and the lid barely closed on the top!!!!! What a great problem to have. Not only that, but I was so happy when someone new came to join in on the fun (Lisa) and she explained she heard about it from a friend but she was from another church! Her scissors were smokin' yesterday! :)

Yall know I love to rave about Publix. Last night was, again, one of those memorable trips I will never forget. I had two separate orders. The one pictured above was for all of my "Clipping for a Cause" stuff. The other order was for my family. It took me about 2-3 hours I would say to navigate around the store, with three different coupon organizers, two different lists, and best of all, 0 kids! Heck, if it took me 4-5 hours I wouldn't be complaining! Isn't it sad when your alone time consists of going grocery shopping?! But, it's so much fun now!

Anyway, as I was checking out and handing the cashier (Steven, who is now one of my faves) my massive pile of wadded up coupons, we struck up a conversation. Suzanne at customer service happened to be listening in and caught the part about why I had two separate orders. She wanted to find out more about "Clipping for a Cause." She was so excited that we exchanged email addresses and she is eager about becoming a part of the ministry! In fact, she is going to start collecting items herself and get the word out at Hamilton Mill Publix about what we are doing!!!!!!!! Do you even know how excited I was?! Her eagerness and excitement to help with the cause just fueled my passion for doing this even more. In case I haven't said it before (lol) I love Publix!

So..here is the very first post of the month and all of the items purchased after Wednesday's "clipping party." Yall aren't going to believe all this stuff!!!!!
