Tootles Blog......Hello Website!!

I just wanted to thank all of you for following the Clipping for a Cause blog over the past year or so! It has been unbelievable to witness this ministry growing in such a short amount of time! To think, we started out in a church in Lawrenceville, GA, and have expanded to other chapters across the U.S. and all the way up to Maine! Although we won't be putting updates on this blog anymore, we would LOVE for you to keep up with us on our new website at: www.clippingforacauseinc.org. Spread the word and encourage others to visit the site and see what we are all about! You can contact us at heather@clippingforacauseinc.org. Also, make sure you "like" us on Facebook here Again, thank you for your support and encouragement. Each of you have been a blessing in some way to Clipping for a Cause and we are so grateful!

  1. Heather:

I just sent you an email copied below, since I have not heard from you thought you might have missed it so am posting it here:

    Heather:

I got a call from a young man, Dominick Smith, from Villa Lodge on Wednesday who was about to be evicted at 11:00. He was given my phone number by another resident there who knows me from my work at Gwinnett County Jail.

Dominick moved here from Minnesota earlier this year to get work, long story, but things did not work out as planned. He and his wife, Alexis, who is now 8 months pregnant, sought help at DFACS and a lady who works there got them a weeks stay at Villa Lodge compliments of St. Vincent Depaul Catholic Charities.

Dominick had just started work at a Subway about a mile and a half down the road in the Ingles Market Shopping Center on Lawrenceville Highway. Unfortunately he was not going to get paid until Friday afternoon. I gave him a ride to work and verified he had a job and had some experience and his boss was happy with his work and that he would be getting more hours next week. This was enough to convince me he was good on his word and had shown some "shoe leather" initiative in looking for a job so I used my credit card to put him and his wife up for another week.

Dominick was very appreciative and asked if he could visit my church on Sunday, he had grown up as a Jehovah's Witness but had not had a good experience there. I am going to be out of town this weekend and unable to go by and pick him up. I mentioned FUMC Lawrenceville just down the hill from where he is staying. He asked if I knew anybody there that might welcome them. Do you know of anyone in your church who has any contact or ministry to the folks at Villa Lodge?

Alexis is on Medicaid so she is OK as far as prenatal care and delivery. This is their first baby and she just needs some friends. I thought of your couponing group, your thoughts?

    Thanks, Russell

Hope to hear from you soon, my cell is 404 906 2581. Russell
